SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is an often talked about, and misunderstood, process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. It is also something that every website that is looking to find clients and business through the internet needs.
It is an ever changing process as Google are constantly changing their algorithm to enhance the search results.
Every change they make can effect the work that has already taken place on a website, and sometimes more work is required to repair the sites as they can be effected quite badly. Only recently BMW and Interflora were both effected by the Google Penguin Update.
Even confused.com have been effected, but they recovered by creating very shareable Content..
One of the main things that need doing right on a website now is CONTENT. Content is what keeps getting mentioned when I read about SEO in 2013.
After attending Brighton SEO conference in April, which was a fair trip out from Cumbria, it was obvious whilst listening to loads of experts talking that Content is King. If you get the content right, make it informative and shareable, then if its good you will reap the rewards.
There are many different things that need setting up correctly In order for you website to rank well, and make it stand out above the competition.
More to follow in a few days, with advice on how to set out the perfectly optimised page, and an infogrophic about internet usage focusing on mobile usage and devices.
